About This Project

Usually made around the 17th century, The “Knole Sofa” was not considered to be a comfortable piece of furniture, but rather, a formal throne on which the monarch would seat themselves to receive visitors. The sides are tied to the sofa’s back with a decorative braid, often with elaborated tassels.

To make it more comfortable for her,  I had to replace the foam and do a new seat base.

The knole sofa furniture was done using modern upholstery whilst keeping the traditional look of the structure & the buttoned style.

To brighten up the clients living space we chose a vibrant yellow velvet with a golden fringe.
