There are many reasons why one would reupholster their furniture. Often, the pieces that are brought to me are family heirlooms, genuine antiques or simply a beloved armchair too hard to part with. For some clients, they want to reimagine and redesign their furniture with autonomy, others will want to restore it to a former glory. It’s an entirely personal decision that I’m fortunate enough to help realise.
Discover the world of upholstery through two distinctive approaches: Modern Upholstery and Traditional Method. In Modern Upholstery, synthetics like foam, polyester, and strong adhesive are utilised, particularly suitable for contemporary furnishings. This method employs staples for quicker and more cost-effective layer fixing, maintaining a high level of comfort even though its durability may not match that of Traditional Upholstery. On the other hand, the Traditional Method revolves around natural fibers such as horsehair, wool, cotton calico, and hemp, meticulously layered to create enduring comfort. Seats are fashioned with webbing and springs, and precise stitching techniques result in firm and well-defined edges. The longevity of Traditional pieces, which can endure over 80 years with proper care, is evident in the abundance of pre-industrial furnishings still present today.

Upon reviewing the estimate together during our appointment and selecting the ideal fabric, we will be able to provide you with a definitive project commencement date and a final accurate pricing.

PROJECT TIMELINE
THIS TIMELINE IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A GENERAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE ANTICIPATED DURATION WHEN CONSIDERING REUPHOLSTERY.
Month 1
Require 1 month notice for project
Once you have completed the booking form, participated in your fabric consultation, and confirmed your reservation date, you’re well on your way to a seamless and fulfilling experience. Your proactive engagement ensures that every aspect of your booking is meticulously attended to, setting the stage for a professional and rewarding collaboration.
Month 2
Week 1
Typically, the fabric shipment process takes approximately 2 to 4 weeks to reach our facilities. It is important to factor in this timeframe when planning your schedule. Please be advised that we do not have the capacity to store your item if the fabric has not yet been delivered to us. Your understanding and timely coordination in this matter are greatly appreciated.
WEEK 2
We are prepared to commence work on your items, and we have allocated approximated timeframes for each piece as outlined below:
Sofa: estimated completion time – 3 to 4 weeks
Chaise longue: estimated completion time – 2 weeks
Armchair: estimated completion time – 2 weeks
Dining chair: estimated completion time – 3 days to 1 week
Headboard: estimated completion time – 2 to 3 days
Window seat: estimated completion time – 3 days to 1 week

WEEK 3
Please kindly note that each furniture item is unique, and the following timeline is provided as a general estimate to offer you a preliminary overview. It is important to recognize that our clientele typically secures bookings with us at least one to two month in advance. Your understanding of these factors is greatly appreciated as we navigate your individual requirements.
